The Schaller Oyster D/S pickup offers a balanced new sound in a modern design, perfect for a wide range of acoustic stringed instruments. This classic contact pickup has been a favorite for decades, known for its compact size and low weight, making it ideal for spontaneous gigs or permanent installation in acoustic instruments.

Featuring new piezo technology, the Oyster D/S pickup is slimmer and delivers an even more balanced sound, providing lifelike and powerful reproduction of the instrument sound without the need for active circuitry or preamplifiers. The perfect interaction of membrane and piezo element ensures an excellent sound result.

Constructed with brass oyster shell material and weighing 12 grams per shell, the Schaller Oyster D/S pickup is available in pure brass or nickel finishes. With a resonance frequency of 6.0kHz ±0.5kHz and a maximum resistance of 500 Ω, this passive pickup requires no power supply like a battery.

Included in the scope of supply are 2 x Oyster shells, 8 x adhesive foils, and a high-quality 1/4" jack socket with cable strain relief, screw nozzle, and strap button for secure mounting. The Oyster pickup has a capacity of 74 pF and is recommended for instruments with a minimum output impedance of 1 (to 5) MOhm.

For installation, thin adhesive tape or adhesive silicone rubber pads are recommended, allowing for customization based on the instrument's resonance and signal strength requirements. The pickup can be positioned under the strings, in front of or behind the bridge, depending on the desired sound.

For powerful playing with percussive elements, attach the Oyster piezo elements underneath the top in a straight line with the bridge and close to the sides. For normal or lighter playing, position the piezo elements left and right directly underneath the bridge.
